We are excited to continue our annual family concert tradition on March 9 at the Dunn Center when the orchestra presents the beloved “Peter and the Wolf”. Like “Musical Zoo” and “Magic and the Orchestra” this is sure to be another great concert, perfect for the whole family. “Peter and the Wolf” is known as a symphonic fairy tale. A narrator will tell the story while the orchestra illustrates it though sound. Children love music they know so the orchestra will also perform selections from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker”. This is a great concert for children and all children and students are admitted free. Adult tickets can be purchased here or at the door.
In addition to the great music, we have lots of free pre-concert activities to make this a wonderful family experience. Families are encouraged to join us starting at 1:30 PM for FREE pre-concert activities including:
an instrument petting zoo where children can try the instruments they will see on stage.
special pre-concert performances by the Tar River Children’s Chorus and our Bucket Drumming Club
Webby’s will be on hand to sell snocones.
Make plans to join us for this once a year treat! You don’t want to miss it!
