Join us for our season opener as the orchestra presents “Carnival”. Enjoy classic orchestral music by Johann Strauss and Bizet with a mix of popular tunes such as “Seventy Six Trombones”, “Brazil”, and music from the recent movie musical “The Greatest Showman.”
As the days get shorter and shorter, and right before we turn back the clocks and lose another hour, join the Tar River Chorus for a little autumn pick-me-up (in Little Italy, they’d call it tiramisu!). Keep those winter blues at bay with a diverse selection of music from Broadway, accompanied by piano, percussion and other guest instrumentalists.
Start your holiday on the right note with a community sing a long of the Christmas portion of Handel’s “Messiah” led by the Tar River Chorus. Admission is free but bring a new unwrapped toy to benefit Peacemaker’s annual toy drive.
Our award-winning Tar River Children’s Chorus and Youth Strings will again usher us into a wonderful Christmas season. The whole family from young to old will enjoy favorite popular Christmas songs and beautiful settings of traditional carols. Come join us for a lovely evening!
Join the Tar River Swing Band as we celebrate Christmas with popular holiday tunes in a Swingin’ style as well as some traditional swing tunes you know and love!
